What is a Muffin?

Muffins are one of the small, fluffy and soft cake types that spread from British cuisine to the world. Especially preferred at tea times, breakfasts or as a snack, muffins are a very popular flavor with sweet and salty versions. While sweet muffins are enriched with ingredients such as chocolate, fruit, nuts and peanuts, savory muffins are enriched with cheese, vegetables and spices. Muffins are easy to make and can be diversified with different ingredients to add personal touches.

Muffin Making Tips:

  • Ingredients should be at room temperature: Having ingredients such as eggs and milk at room temperature helps muffins rise better.
  • Mixing Dry and Liquid Ingredients Separately: Dry (flour, baking powder, cocoa) and liquid (eggs, milk, oil) ingredients are first mixed separately and then combined. This prevents over-mixing the batter and allows you to get fluffier muffins.
  • Not filling the molds completely: Fill the muffin molds two-thirds full so that there is room for rising.
  • Fluffiness and Texture: The muffins should be soft and porous inside. Using well-beaten eggs and baking powder helps with this.

Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 glass of milk
  • 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 1 packet of vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 100 grams milk or dark chocolate (chopped)
  • 1 cup Orgibite Pistachios (roasted, coarsely chopped)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Preparation:

  1. Prepare the Oven: Preheat the oven to 180°C and prepare your muffin tins or use paper muffin tins.
  2. Eggs and Sugar: In a large bowl, beat the eggs and granulated sugar with a mixer until foamy. This step is very important for the muffins to rise.
  3. Liquid Ingredients: Add the oil and milk, then mix again.
  4. Dry Ingredients: Sift the flour, baking powder, vanilla and cocoa into the liquid mixture. Bring the ingredients to a homogeneous consistency with a spatula.
  5. Add Chocolate and Pistachios: Add chopped chocolate and coarsely chopped Orgibite Pistachios to the dough. You can also add chocolate drops if you like.
  6. Divide the Batter: Divide the muffin batter evenly between the molds. Do not fill the molds completely, leave some space for it to rise.
  7. Baking: Bake the muffins in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, until a toothpick test comes out clean.
  8. Serving: Allow the muffins to cool after removing from the oven. You can serve them warm or after they have cooled completely.

This recipe will delight in every bite with the rich taste of chocolate and the light crunch of Orgibite Pistachios. Bon Appetit! 😋
